Keep Hawaii’s Heroes

23 01 2015

As part of the Army’s 2020 force structure realignment, the Army is considering a proposal to eliminate 16,606 soldiers from Schofield Barracks and 3,786 soldiers from Fort Shafter. Along with those 19,800 soldiers would be the 30,000 family members who are also part of our community.

Wahiawa, Waialua, Schofield, Mililani and Kunia will be severely impacted with a 38% reduction in the population, which will affect the construction, retail, restaurant, real estate, professional, scientific and technical services industries and an estimated loss of 20,000 jobs.
