Filipino Americans have made indelible contributions to the United States and Hawaii. City Council Chair Ernest Martin noted that “the Filipino community can take great pride in the fact that almost half of the City Councilmembers today are of Filipino ancestry. Filipinos have also been prominent members of past Councils and have made significant contributions to the social and economic progress of our City.”

Among the numerous events to celebrate Filipino American History Month, is an art showcase from Filipino-American artists at Honolulu Hale, which includes artwork by Councilmember Ron Menor’s Senior Advisor Corinne Gallardo-Mata. The Third Pamana, The Honolulu Heritage Art Exhibit will run from October 13 – October 30.
