Appreciating and Recognizing


For Her Many Years of Dedicated Service and Care

To Our Keiki and Their Families

WHEREAS, Natalie Pang Kee was born and raised in Kaneohe, Hawaii; and

WHEREAS, Natalie graduated from Castle High School in 1983; and

WHEREAS, for the past 29 years she has devoted herself to teaching and caring for preschool children in her community; and

WHEREAS, Natalie began her teaching career at Parker School in 1986 and has been teaching at Rainbow School Kaneohe since it opened in 1991; and

WHEREAS, for nearly three decades Natalie has devoted herself to ensuring that her students experience learning in a positive and nurturing environment; and

WHEREAS, as a teacher at Rainbow School Kaneohe she has helped hundreds of children develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually through developmentally appropriate practices while encouraging “experiential” learning; and

WHEREAS, after 25 years of dedicated service at Rainbow School Kaneohe, Natalie has had the unique opportunity to care for generations of families, teaching keiki of her former students which highlights the positive impact she has had in her community; and

WHEREAS, Natalie has maintained her dedication to teaching while raising her three children as a single mother after the untimely passing of her partner from cancer in 2000; and

WHEREAS, she is a devoted mother of two sons and a daughter; Isaiah, age 21, Ivan, age 19 and Natasha, age 15; and

WHEREAS, Natalie’s dedication to caring and investing in others is truly commendable; now therefore

BE IT RESOLVED that the Honolulu City and County Council does hereby recognize Natalie Pang Kee for her many years of dedicated service and care to our keiki and their families; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council, on behalf of the people of the City and County of Honolulu, extends its sincere appreciation for her investment in our future leaders.
