Merry Christmas

24 12 2015

As we wind down the year and gather with family and friends, I wanted to take a moment to say Mahalo to everyone who works hard to make our community a beautiful place to live. Now is the time to celebrate the Holidays and reflect on the year that was.   Christmas time is full of celebrations and traditions.

It is a tradition in my family that one of us, my three children or my wife, get a “box of rocks” as a gag gift. It is a reminder that we should be thankful for what we have when there are so many others who are less fortunate than we are. The fun part is watching my kids and wife shake their presents vigorously before opening them to see who gets the box of rocks. We try not to give fragile gifts because they might not survive the search. The greatest gift I ever received? That’s easy. My family.

This Christmas, please embrace the spirit of giving and remember those who are struggling. Do what you can to help and be forever grateful for what you have.

Please have a safe and very Merry Christmas.

Aloha,

Melanie, Mallory, Becky, Buddy, and Ernie
