Hawaiian Electric Utility Work on Kunia Road Starts Today

18 04 2017

A Hawaiian Electric Company contractor will be performing utility work along Kunia Road in Wahiawa near Schofield Barracks as part of a project to interconnect the Schofield Generating Station with the electric grid. The work will be performed on Tuesday, April 18, to Friday, April 21, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

For the safety of work crews and the public, the far-right northeast-bound lane of Kunia Road will be closed during construction hours between Schofield Barrack’s Foote Gate and Wilikina Drive. Work will begin near Foot Gate and continue toward Wilikina Drive. Traffic control measures, aided by special-duty police officers, will be used to help direct traffic flow on Kamehameha Highway.

This interconnection work will proceed onto Wilikina Drive on April 24. Details for the  Wilikina Drive lane closure will be issued at a later date.
